The display URL and QR code

Every screen has its own address. Open it on the device in the lobby and

that device becomes the board.

Where to find it

Displays → open the screen → Preview & URL. The tab shows the board

as it will look, the URL, and a QR code.

It used to live on a Preview page of its own. It is per screen now, which

is the only place it can be — two screens on the same hotel have two

different URLs and two different configurations behind them.

The URL is permanent, unguessable, and does not need a login. Anyone with

the link sees your board, so treat it as semi-public: fine on a screen in

your lobby, not something to publish.

Getting it onto the device

With the QR code. Open the camera on the device, point it at the code

on your laptop, follow the link. Fastest when the device has a camera.

By hand. Copy the URL and type it into the browser on the device.

Tedious, but it works on a smart TV with a remote and no camera.

Once the board is open:

  • Android — Chrome, menu, *Add to home screen*
  • iPad or iPhone — Safari, share, *Add to Home Screen*
  • Smart TV — save it as a bookmark or the start page
  • Then set the device to open it on boot. A board that needs someone to

tap through a browser after every power cut is not yet installed — see

    Kiosk mode.

The preview tab needs an active display

An inactive display has nothing to preview. Activate it on the General

    tab first.

When the URL does not work

  • "Hotel not found" - the URL is truncated or from another account.
  • Copy it again from the tab.

  • Nothing loads - check the device is online. A board with no network
  • shows cached flights and an offline marker; a board that has never

    loaded shows nothing.

  • The wrong board appears - you copied the URL of a different screen.
  • Each has its own.

    Where to go next

  • The display editor
  • More than one screen
  • Display not loading
