Question 1

What is LobbyFlight?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight is a professional Flight Information Display System (FIDS) designed specifically for hotels. It displays real-time flight departures and arrivals from nearby airports on screens in your hotel lobby, helping guests stay informed about their flights without having to ask the front desk. Alongside it, Flight Concierge tracks individual guests' flights — on its own or combined with a board.

Question 2

Who is LobbyFlight designed for?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight is designed for hotels of all sizes located near airports. Whether you're a boutique hotel, business hotel, or part of a large chain, LobbyFlight helps you provide valuable flight information to your guests. It's particularly useful for airport hotels, transit hotels, and any property where guests frequently travel by air.

Question 3

How does LobbyFlight differ from other solutions?

Accepted Answer

Unlike generic flight apps, LobbyFlight is purpose-built for hotel lobbies. We offer automatic real-time updates (as fast as every 5 minutes on Premium), hotel branding customization (logo, colors, design), info slides for hotel promotions, 42 language support, and optimized displays for 24/7 operation on commercial screens. Our solution is specifically designed for the hospitality industry.

Question 4

Which airports are supported?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight supports over 13,000 airports worldwide with IATA codes. This includes all major international airports, regional airports, and most commercial airports globally. Simply enter the 3-letter IATA code (e.g., VIE for Vienna, JFK for New York, LHR for London Heathrow) in your settings to start displaying flights.

Question 5

Is LobbyFlight GDPR compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes, LobbyFlight is fully GDPR compliant. We only collect essential business data (hotel name, contact email) for account management. The flight display itself shows only publicly available flight information and doesn't collect any guest data. All data is stored securely in EU-based data centers, and you can request data deletion at any time.

Question 6

How quickly can I get started?

Accepted Answer

You can have your flight display running in less than 10 minutes! Simply: 1) Sign up for an account, 2) Select your nearby airport(s), 3) Upload your logo and set brand colors, 4) Open the display URL on your Android TV or tablet. That's it - no technical expertise required.

Question 7

What hardware do I need?

Accepted Answer

You need any Android-based display or smart TV with a web browser. We recommend: 32" or larger screen for lobby visibility, Full HD (1080p) resolution minimum, stable WiFi or Ethernet connection, and Android 8.0 or newer. Many hotels use affordable Android TV boxes connected to existing displays.

Question 8

How do I set up the display?

Accepted Answer

Setup is simple: 1) Log into your hotel portal at lobbyflight.com, 2) Configure your settings (airports, branding), 3) Go to the Preview tab and copy your unique display URL, 4) On your Android device, open Chrome and navigate to the URL, 5) Optionally, add to home screen or use a kiosk app like "Fully Kiosk Browser" for automatic startup. Our step-by-step guide walks you through each step with screenshots.

Question 9

Can I use my existing display or TV?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Any TV or display that can run a web browser will work. For smart TVs, use the built-in browser. For regular TVs, connect an Android TV box, Amazon Fire Stick (with browser), or Raspberry Pi. The display just needs to load a webpage, making it compatible with almost any screen.

Question 10

What happens if the internet goes down?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight includes robust offline mode. If internet connectivity is lost, the display continues showing the last cached flight data with a small "offline" indicator. Once connection is restored, data automatically refreshes. This ensures your display never shows a blank screen or error message to guests.

Question 11

How much does LobbyFlight cost?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight offers three plans: Basic at €69/month (1 display, core features), Pro at €149/month (3 displays, weather widget, 5 info slides, 2 languages), and Premium at €199/month (unlimited displays, white-label branding, custom domain, 42 languages, analytics). All plans include the core flight display, branding options, and email support. No setup fees or hidden costs. Flight Concierge is available on its own (S €39 / M €89 / L €199 per month) or with any board; Premium includes 50 trips/month.

Question 12

How does the free trial work?

Accepted Answer

We offer a 14-day free trial that includes everything — flight board displays and Flight Concierge with up to 50 guest flights. No credit card required to start. After 14 days, choose a flight board, Flight Concierge or both in the portal to continue; if you don't, the trial simply ends — nothing is charged and nothing renews automatically.

Question 13

Can I change my plan?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing for the current month. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Simply go to Settings > Billing in your portal to make changes.

Question 14

What payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and SEPA direct debit for European customers. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. You'll receive automatic invoices via email after each payment.

Question 15

Are there any hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

No hidden fees whatsoever. The monthly price you see is the price you pay. There are no setup fees, no per-display charges, no API fees, and no contracts. Prices are displayed excluding VAT, which will be added where applicable based on your location. Flight Concierge includes a monthly trip allowance; trips beyond it are billed with the next invoice, or covered by a Trip Pack you buy in advance.

Question 16

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time with no penalties or cancellation fees. Your service will continue until the end of your current billing period. Simply go to Settings > Billing > Manage Subscription to cancel.

Question 17

Can I use Flight Concierge without a flight board?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Flight Concierge works on its own from €39 a month — you don't need a lobby screen or a board plan. Want a lobby flight board too? Add one from €69 a month at any time, or take Premium, which includes the board and 50 guest flights a month.

Question 18

How often does flight data update?

Accepted Answer

Flight data automatically refreshes based on your subscription tier: Basic (every 60 minutes), Pro (every 30 minutes), Premium (every 5 minutes). This ensures guests always see current information including real-time delays, gate changes, and cancellations.

Question 19

Which languages are supported?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight supports 42 languages — including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Korean, Dutch, Turkish, Greek, Hindi, Thai and many more — with full right-to-left support for Arabic, Hebrew and Persian. Pro plan includes 2 languages, while Premium includes all 42 with automatic rotation to serve international guests.

Question 20

Can I use multiple displays?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Basic plan includes 1 display, Pro includes 3 displays, and Premium offers unlimited displays. You can place screens throughout your hotel - in the lobby, near elevators, in the restaurant, or at the reception. Each display shows the same information, ensuring consistency.

Question 21

What is the white-label option?

Accepted Answer

The Premium plan includes white-label branding, which means no LobbyFlight branding appears on your displays. You can also use a custom domain (e.g., flights.yourhotel.com) instead of our standard URL. This creates a fully branded experience for your guests.

Question 22

How does the weather widget work?

Accepted Answer

The weather widget (available in Pro and Premium plans) shows current weather conditions and a 3-day forecast for your selected airport location. It displays temperature, conditions (sunny, rainy, etc.), humidity, and wind speed - helping guests prepare for their destination.

Question 23

Can I display custom content?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Pro and Premium plans include hotel information slides that rotate with the flight display. You can show shuttle schedules, restaurant hours, spa services, local attractions, or any custom messages. Premium plan offers unlimited slides, while Pro includes up to 5.

Question 24

What display sizes are recommended?

Accepted Answer

For optimal visibility in a hotel lobby, we recommend 32" or larger displays. A 43" to 55" TV is ideal for most lobbies. For smaller areas like reception desks, a 24" to 32" display works well. The display should be placed at eye level where guests can easily see it from seating areas.

Question 25

How does offline mode work?

Accepted Answer

LobbyFlight keeps a small copy of the last good board in the browser's local storage on your display device: the display settings for up to 24 hours, the flight list for up to 30 minutes. If the connection drops while the board is running, it simply keeps showing the flights it last loaded, with a small "Offline Mode" badge; once a refresh fails, the list is marked "Data may be delayed" with the time of the last update. If the screen restarts during an outage, it comes back with that stored copy instead of an empty page; a flight list older than 30 minutes is not shown, because the times would mislead. When the connection returns, the board refreshes automatically. There is nothing to install or configure.

Question 26

How secure is my data?

Accepted Answer

Security is a top priority. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We store only essential business information (hotel name, email, settings) in secure, EU-based servers. Flight data comes from trusted aviation data providers. We never store guest information. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, and we follow industry best practices for data protection.

Question 27

Can I customize colors and branding?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! All plans include full branding customization. You can upload your hotel logo (PNG, JPG, or SVG up to 2MB), set primary and secondary brand colors using a color picker, and your display will automatically incorporate these elements. Preview changes in real-time before publishing.

Question 28

How do I reach support?

Accepted Answer

Every plan includes email support at info@lobbyflight.com, Monday to Friday. Pro adds priority email support, so your requests are answered first, and Premium adds priority support with phone assistance. Our Help Center also has instant answers to common questions.

Question 29

Is there a setup guide?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We provide a comprehensive step-by-step setup guide in our Help Center. It includes detailed instructions with screenshots for: account creation, portal configuration, display setup on various devices, kiosk mode configuration, and troubleshooting tips. You can also access video tutorials for visual guidance.

Question 30

Do you offer training?

Accepted Answer

We don't run formal training sessions: LobbyFlight is built to be set up in minutes. Every customer has access to our Help Center with step-by-step guides, and if you get stuck, our team helps by email on every plan, with priority email support on Pro and priority support with phone assistance on Premium.
